For Chris Desmone, an interest in interiors began long before design became his profession. From an early age he was instinctively rearranging furniture and studying houses he visited – an enduring curiosity about rooms, architecture, and the way people live that ultimately shaped a career spanning more than three decades.

Graduating with a degree in Fine Arts, Desmone began his career in Naples, Florida where his early work in visual display soon evolved into interior design including model homes and private residences. In 1999 he moved to New York City where he spent the next 26 years working within an established design practice and was immersed in the city's extraordinary community of design.

In 2026, Desmone established his own design firm bringing together decades of experience. His interiors draw freely from the vernacular and the classical while embracing the ease and clarity of contemporary life. At the heart of his work is the belief that the most memorable interiors evolve from the people who inhabit them. By understanding a client's personality, collections, routines, and aspirations, Desmone creates rooms that feel assembled rather than decorated: layered, comfortable, sophisticated, and individual. They are intended not simply to be admired but to provide a backdrop for everyday life, family and friends and the accumulation of experiences.

The instinct that started it remains much the same.
